VKICL has been a major importer of steel since its inception. However, with the increased production capacity of Indian Mills combined with the Honourable Prime Minister’s ‘Make In India’ initiative and our increasing recognition overseas, we started to procure material from first-class domestic mills and export domestic steel to customers overseas.

VKICL began exporting to neighbouring countries like Nepal, Uganda, and Sri Lanka beginning in 2018. This added a new feather to our cap and opened a new chapter in the growth story of VKICL. Our diverse and huge inventory holdings accompanied with warehouses in port cities (Navi Mumbai and Chennai) gives us a competitive edge. Hence, we are able to service our customers better with timely deliveries and reduced export costs.

VKICL is now ready to expand its horizon. We are in the process of creating a “VKICL Export Division” to cover the global steel requirement and increase the share of our exports in gross revenue. India is the second largest steel producer in the world. It is expected that post COVID-19 pandemic, Indian products will have huge market potential in the world due to its competitive prices, comparable quality products, relaxed taxation rules, and availability of easy logistics.
